Lesson Plan
Marlene Slobin, an adjunct professor in the Department of Education at the University of Houston, has been instrumental in encouraging her graduate students not only to attend our programs but to exercise what they’ve learned in real terms. One graduate student did just that. Karen Cook created a lesson plan based on her learning about the Red Hand Campaign.
In January 2008, Human Rights Watch advocates spoke to Houston teachers and students about the child soldier problem afflicting countries around the world. The Red Hand Campaign is an effort to bring about global awareness and collectively put an end to using children as soldiers. See lesson plans
