Moderates in the Arab world have always played an important role in peace and development. Extremists may receive more media attention, but moderate leaders are working vigorously toward regional reform and a peaceful solution to the Arab-Israel conflict.
Marwan Muasher’s book, The Arab Center, is part analysis and part memoir. From a first-hand perspective, it reveals the personal side of the Arab Peace initiative and the Middle East road map. Muasher links the current state of affairs with the cultural, religious, and historical dimensions of the region and the people, providing a thorough understanding of the roots and causes of local politics and its influen ce on global affairs.
Marwan Muasher holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from Purdue University. He has 20 years of experience with the peace process in the Middle East serving as Jordanian Diplomat; Muasher has served as Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister, and Jordan’s first ambassador to Israel and the United States.
"Few Arab thinkers are better positioned to discuss the challenge to moderation in the Middle East, and I hope that Marwan Muasher's distinguished voice of reason and pragmatism will be heard well beyond our region." -His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan
