President Obama is expected to engage in more direct talks with Iran soon after he takes office. But how should the US approach these talks? Who holds real power in Iran and what do they want?
As the country increases its nuclear development the stakes grow higher each day. Iran’s internal politics are fraught with divisions between radicals and moderates. Regional relations are equally complex. How can the next U.S. president begin an effective and productive dialog with Iran? Is there common ground?
Dr. Trita Parsi is president of the National Iranian Council and an expert on Iranian foreign policy and US-Iranian relations. His articles have been published in the Financial Times, the Globalist, the Jerusalem Post, and the Daily Star. Dr. Parsi is a frequent commentator on US-Iranian relations and Middle Eastern affairs, and has appeared on BBC World News, PBS NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, CNN, Al Jazeera, C-Span, NPR, MSNBC, Voice of America and British Channel 4.
The popular annual showcase of the best in Iranian cinema returns. The selections were chosen by Bo Smith of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Generous support was provided by the ILEX Foundation.
